AUTOMATIC PALLETIZING
Loads small metal pins into special pallets.
Small metal pins (.062" dia.) of various length are automatically fed from a feeder
bowl and placed on end on holes in four pallets holding 500 parts each. The pins are singulated and inspected for
a chamfer on one end. They are re-oriented as needed for a chamfer-down attitude, and placed in the pallet holes
one at a time in a 2 second cycle.

|
PRODUCTION QUALITY TESTING
Functional Testing of Steering Assemblies.
Automatically tests the functions of steering assemblies by clamping
the assembly in the actual installed position and running it through all its functions. Operating forces are measured,
and various part positions are verified on 100% of the production line throughput.

TUBE AND YOKE ASSEMBLY
Automatically assembles tubes to yokes.
Metal tubes are fed from a unique magazine, and universal-joint yokes
are fed from a feeder bowl automatically The parts are advanced through the process by a walking-beam drive.
They are oriented, pressed together, secured via orbital riveting, and inspected.

AUTOMATIC TEST MACHINE
Tests and sorts electronic receivers.
This dial fed machine features
bar code scanning, automatic electrical test interface via spring loaded
probes, part sorting, and automatic unloading. Quick change part nests
accommodated two different part housings.

DUAL MAGAZINE PART FEEDER
For loading metal parts into press tooling.
Two magazines allow continuous
operation of the loader. Special part orienting features allow precise
placement in a press cavity with .005" part clearance.
|
|
WORK STATION
Automatically feeds and presses pivot pins.
The two parts to be joined are manually positioned in nests.
Feeding and pressing takes place automatically behind a light-curtain shield after the two parts have been placed.
Pivot pins are automatically fed from dual magazines into the pressing heads, and are pressed into position,
while monitoring press force and proper depth of pin insertion.

AUTOMATIC TESTER
Tests and sorts electronic transmitters.
Two vision systems inspect both
sides of the parts, and active functional tests are performed in two test
chambers. Parts are magazine fed, inspected, tested, and directed to
two reject chambers or to a packager.

|
ROBOT END EFFECTOR
A robot-mounted system for feeding 3 spools
of carbon fiber composite ribbons.
The equipment included pneumatic
suspension for the applicator head, low tension feeding of the 3 ribbons to
the applicator, and featured a unique "cut-on-the-fly" method of cutting the
ribbons while on the move.
